Yes, my front rim was off-true, but Im used to shops saying, "well do the best we can", not, "throw that bike away." I guess the "lead" mechanic, probably Tbcĭo not. Im used to a "do our best" attitude from repair shops. If you want a salesman to hover around you and tell you what you should buy then Trek may be a better fit.īrought in my 20 year old $1,000 Cannondale in to get 3 particular things fixed. It is a small business, 3-4 people on staff, the owner is almost always in and very helpful. The young staff understand the bikes and are very helpful. They help you when you ask and dont hover over you when you are just looking, which is nice because that can be very annoying.įantastic service and knowledge of cycling. More so, was completely shocked to overhear the owner putting down his customers in front of two people that WERE being helped. I drove all the way from Crown Point to Highland to patronize a local business and walked out frustrated and empty-handed.Īwful experience. When I asked if he had anything that he thought would be better, he said no. I found one that I liked, and the young salesman insisted that the womens size small bike I had chosen was too small for me, even though I am only 5 tall and had previously been fitted at Trek. Raleigh cheaped out on cable slack, so a simple handlebar upgrade will be cost prohibitive. ![]() They dont do service on Saturday, and they dont notify when your bike is ready. They wont help you get out the door, but they will watch you struggle with it (bangs and scratches, oh my). ![]() If you make the mistake of buying a bike from them, they dont care if the bike is a good fit. If you try to get them to help, they act like they have something better to do. This store has good karma and brings back great memories. Thanks to Bill and Trudy, cycling became a life long passion of mine. I would join them on thier group rides Sunday morning rides from the shop on Ridge Road as they rode through Crown Point to southern Lake County. Bill and his cycling friends got me interested in cycling when I was in high school. The last bike was a Schwinn Paramount which Bill sold to me at cost because I was in college at Indiana University at the time and couldnt afford it otherwise. They are cery Rude! Ower is Prejudice staff didnt give ne a receipt the part was the wrong one try to return it he got very ugly with cuss me out! Im out my part n money now when i ask him to call his employee who took care me he said he had no way to contact him u guess he need the money more than i did.imay me feel uncomfortable as soon as i walked im how dare he cuss me out when hs store was in the wrong then told me to get out his store maybe if my skin color was like his would have treated me with respect i was polite until he try calling me a lier n he use profanity to me,i will tell everybody i know not to do business with him!!!
